Cooking With Teenager: Hash Browns

When my teenager was a child, I read a lot of articles that say: inviting children to make food can train their fine motor while having fun! That's very true! Prepare the ingredients, slicing, sorting the beans, weighing the flour, those are some examples of activities that all the kids can do while cooking with the mother, which will eventually produce the delicious food they will enjoy. This kind of lesson will be fun and memorable of having fun with mom.
Cooking with teenager: hash browns

When my son was eight years old, he had learned how to make a very easy chocolate cake. No need to weigh, just count the number of spoons or cup. Then after the cake done, he can decorate it with a variety of edible decoration as he likes. Fun activities will leave a good memory that will continue into adulthood. This will form the habits and independence that we expect to form within the child’s development.

Lately, my son is very fond of hash browns and cooks it himself. Hash browns are delicious food with easy cooking methods and ingredients that are almost always available in our home. Here's my son's hash browns recipe:

Ingredients:
½ kg of potatoes
60 gr cheddar cheese
2 eggs
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Cooking oil for deep fried

Methods:
1. Wash potatoes, dry. Then grate coarse, dry again by squeezing it to get rid of the water.
2. Grated cheese, mixed with grated potatoes.
3. Beat eggs briefly, then put into the grated potatoes, put in the garlic powder. Mix well.
4. Heat the cooking oil in the pan, put 1 tablespoon of potato batter into hot oil, fry until browned.

Hash browns are very tasty to enjoy on the trip or while watching the movie at home.

Those hash browns sound delicious. That's wonderful that your son is only 8 and cooks them himself. I have a 7-year-old, so I need to get him cooking.
