Indonesian Pie Susu (Milk Pie) Recipe

First time I eaten pie susu was “pie susu Bali”. It was a very thin pie, I didn’t like it very much, only the sweetness that I tasted. When I found the recipe, I tried to baked it, and…. I like it so much! I can feel the milk, the butter, the caramel, in enough portion. Here is the recipe:
Pie crust:
250 gr flour
125 gr butter
1 tablespoon sugar
Filling:
3 egg yolks
200 gr sweetened condensed milk
100 ml water
Method:
Preheat the oven. Prepare the mold pie, spread with butter.
Pie crust:
In a bowl, mix flour, butter, and sugar with pie knife to make the dough. Stir dough with fingers, make a ball dough. Put some dough, press out the dough with fingertips to cover the entire surface of the mold. Trim dough over the edge surface of the mold using a knife.
Make the filling:
In a bowl stir egg yolks, add the sweetened condensed milk and water, stir well. This will be a very liquid batter. Pour the batter, don’t get full, reserving about half cm from the surface of the pie.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the pie crust looks yellow-brown and the filling hardened. Remove the pie from the oven, let the pie completely cool. Remove carefully from the mold. Ready to serve!
