Fried Tofu With Shrimp Paste
- Cooking
- 01 November 2015
Shrimp paste or shrimp sauce is sauce black sauce that made of shrimp and other small fishes. The sauce taste savoury and sweet, and of course it has the taste of shrimp and fish. Its texture is so thick, not like other sauce, such as tomato sauce. It’s similar with the texture of peanut butter or chocolate spread. People in my country like to add some chilli into the sauce, because they like spicy taste, but not my son, he doesn’t like spicy too much.
The most famous shrimp paste brand in my hometown: Ny. Siok
I like to eat the fried tofu with shrimp paste. I fried the tofu until crisp, so the fried tofu will be crisp outside, but tender inside. So delicious!
First, prepare a little salt and water, mix them. Then put the tofu into the salt mixture, let the tofu stay in the salt mixture about 30 minutes. Then fry until crisp outside.
To prepare the shrimp paste, take 1 tablespoon of shrimp paste, put it in a bowl, add about 5 tablespoon water, and if you like, add some chilli. You can use chilli powder or minced. Then add a little lemon. Mix well. Then boil the mixture until boiling.
OK, fried tofu ready to serve with shrimp paste!
