Thomas Jefferson's Principles In Educational Leadership

Yesterday I was not feeling well, so we are decide to learn on our own. My son chose to learn by reading science books from the We Give Books. I chose to learn about the educational principles of Thomas Jefferson.

Why I chose those topics? A couple days ago I read a review, writing by a homeschool mom that applies the principles of Thomas Jefferson on education her three children, and was pleased with its success. As usual, I was smitten, so would like to know about it. Then I browsed the internet. I met the official link of his book at amazon.com store, also links the counter principal of his theories.

Sidoarjo Cultural Parade

Last Sunday my city, Sidoarjo, celebrate its 156th birthday. We have cultural parade. People dress up culturally and festive, riding unique vehicles. They march, dance, and playing music. We have so much fun watching the parade. Our government also providing about 6000 free meals! Isn't that wonderful? I have the opportunity watching the dancers prepare for the parade, they are professionals and I can see that they are having fun as I am. I must commit that I was so excited watching, taking photos, and interact with them.

Preparing the unique vehicles and costums before the parade began. They were really hard working to show off their beautiful culture.

The Unveiled Wife - A Book Review

I feel this is not a coincidence, when I read “The Unveiled Wife”, my husband go to other island and left me alone only with my son for a couple days, and we are planning to move to Sumatera island. These two facts bring me to stressful condition. 

When I alone only with my son and my excessive workload, I feel overload and also helpless. That’s sometime make me cry. I continue to ask God, why I have to face this burden? The fact that we will move to Sumatera island is also give me some burden. It’s been 40 years I live in a big city at Java, which has good means of living. In contrary, at Sumatera we will live in a very small village. Can you imagine how hard the adaptation process that we had to face? This all happened because of my husband. 

Being Single Parent

This week I had the opportunity to feel the role as a single parent, that is when my husband had to get out of the island up to 4 days. This opportunity can actually be viewed within two points of view: in positive and negative way. In positive way, this opportunity is the time to try to become a single parent, feel the stress and the commotion in becoming a single parent. And from negative standpoint, I only feel the burden.
