Well, this year we celebrate the year of the ox, when we celebrate the year of the roaster I made a roaster napkin, but this year I am not going to write about ox craft, I will post a more generic Chinese New Year simple craft idea, a hanging decoration.

Materials you’ll need:
2 Ang bao envelope, I’m so lucky I found envelop with beautiful paper cut embellishment.
Nylon cord thread in red color
Double tape with foam
Scissor

2 strands 60 cm long. Fold in the middle of the thread.

Take 1 piece of thread measuring 60 cm, tie the two ends together with a large enough knot. This will be the hanging string.

Let’s start weaving 4 sets of thread to become the tassel

For more clear instructions you can watch the tutorial video here, this is not my video. I learned to make the tassel from this video so I would like to share it with you.

When the tassel is done you can attach the cut-out from ang bao envelop, here is how:

Attach 4 pieces of double tape with foam in this position. The gap between the two double foam tapes is right in the middle of the cut-out.

Make a knot of hanging string on this position. And then position the hanging string, attach the other cut-out to the double tape. And… Done! It is very easy!
