What Does Back to the Future Teach Us?

back to the future
21 October 2015, we watch again Back To The Future II to celebrate Back to the Future day, it was when Marty went to his future at 21 October 2015 from his life at 1985. While eating cheese cake that I prepared especially for this movie day, I think about the movie and the message around it.
The main figure, Marty McFly and his friend Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, are representation of a young energetic teenager and an ambitious scientist. With the time machine that Doc invented, they want to change the history to be better for the future.
Mostly, all movie about time machine have the same plot: to have better future by changing the history. To be more rich, more famous, to married with the right person, and other successes. As a human, most of us don’t want to have miserable life. It is normal. And Back to the Future very clearly describe this human needs.
Another message from Back to the Future movie is, people at 1985 described 2015 as a very different world with modern technology. In fact, 30 years doesn’t make the world become too modern. We still don’t have flying cars on the road, self-tied shoes string, and we don’t wear a modern colorful-weird look clothing as described in the movie.
Is that mean we are lack of effort to reach the imagination about 2015? No, but the way we view about what important to us is developed day by day. That makes our taste about modernity also different from 1985 to 2000 and from 2000 to 2015. This is the reasons why imagination about 2015 at Back to the Future is different than what we exactly have at 2015.
From this movie we learn about two humanity facts: the desire to be better, and the development of human thoughts that can’t be predicted accurately. By these understanding, we can better maintain our life and face our world in better way.
“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”
~ Eleanor Roosevelt ~

Quoting Barbara Bianchi:
We watched Back to the future, too and laughed at how 2015 was expected to be. Your analysis is so true and I love the quote from Eleanor Roosevelt. Have a wonderful week. :)

Thank you Barbara. I like the quotes too :)
