London Hat Hunting Mission - Read Your World 2018

At the beginning, I read London Hat Hunting Mission I was so surprised. At first, I thought this book was just about exploring famous places in London. But then I realize that the book invites readers to travel to London through the diversity of hats! Curious? Me, too!
Winnie Mak Tselikas creatively linked the adventures of a group of children with the hunt for some hats. As an adult, I am very interested in reading this book and curious to know the ending of the story. I believe children are also interested in reading or hearing about the adventures of Hope, Jun, Parth, Lea, and Mr. Globe.
Winnie also uses dolls as the main characters in her book. This brought the second surprise to me. Because, when I received this book, I just finished my handmade rag doll. If Winnie related her dolls with various cultural places in London, I related my rag doll to the culture of Batak, one of the hundreds of thousands of cultures in Indonesia.

The next surprise was experienced by my son who read this book. Look at the two photos below... LOL!
See at the sound of Big Ben, it's "bing bong"
He is our cat: Bing Bong
Through this book, Winnie also tells that London is a city that has a cultural diversity. I hope one day Winnie also incorporates one of Indonesia's cultures into her book that supports cultural diversity.
Multicultural Children’s Book Day 2018 (1/27/18) is in its 5th year and was founded by Valarie Budayr from Jump Into A Book and Mia Wenjen from PragmaticMom. Our mission is to raise awareness of the ongoing need to include kids’ books that celebrate diversity in home and school bookshelves while also working diligently to get more of these types of books into the hands of young readers, parents, and educators.
