Taking the formal examination or not is an option for homeschooling families. Children also should be aware of this. So when parent decide that their kid takes a formal examination, the kid also should understand why it is important. By this way, a kid will like to do the best for his success. Otherwise, if he doesn’t understand the advantages of formal exams for himself, he will be less hard work.
What parent should communicate to their kids according to formal examination?
1. WHY does he need to succeed in formal exams?
If it’s not explained, a kid doesn’t understand why he had to work hard to succeed. Parents and children need to cooperate for the success of the exam. Therefore, everything about the examination must be explained to the kid until the kid can accept it as part of his task.
2. What should be done by the kid to be successful?
Such as, kid have to study more often, and try harder to master the lesson. All of this must be communicated by the parent to the kid so that kid will have the self-discipline to achieve success.
3. You will always there beside him
Reassure your kid that you will always support him. If he needs, you'll be ready for him.
4. When kid is unsuccessful in the formal examination
The kid should be helped to anticipate his failure. Disappointment because of not being able to anticipate failure will bring anger. It would affect the kid psychologically and the relationship between parent and their kid.
The most important thing on this topic is communication between parent and their child.
